In the meantime, we recently delved into the Diablo series. There are some greats picks including Path of Exile and non isometric RPGs such as Borderlands 3. If you’ve already blitzed through Diablo 2 Resurrected and want to find your next dungeon crawling fix, we’ve created a list of the best games like Diablo. It has a few control issues with when using a controller, but it’s still a must-play for anyone who used to play it and misses it, and a strong recommendation to anyone else who likes action RPGs, dark and grim atmospheres, or who just wants to experience a treasure from the now distant past. It looks and feels just how I remember it from playing in the early 2000s, but with cooler lighting and sharper graphics. Here’s what we had to say in our conclusion:ĭiablo 2: Resurrected is a great remake of a real classic. When playable, it offers an enthralling loot-heavy RPG experience that looks stunning and can rope adventure parties in for hours on end. In our Diablo 2 Resurrected review, we scored the remake a strong 8 out of 10. Here are links to EU support and Americas support. Of course, another ideal source for the latest server information and maintenance schedule is Blizzard’s own official customer support accounts on social media. The Downdetector Diablo page shows the latest up-to-date information on server outages over the past 24 hours and what specific problems players have encountered. The answer is, in practical terms, yes, near enough - and it has comfortably exceeded the performance of the last-gen games in doing so. And the Switch version is based on the recent Eternal Collection edition of the game, which includes the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions and every update, so it's as content and feature-complete as it could be.īut how well has it survived the transition to Nintendo's portable console? Before launch, Blizzard said the game would run at 960p docked and a native 720p portable, while targeting the 60 frames per second that is a core part of Diablo 3 gameplay. A year later it carried this version over to PS4 and Xbox One. Blizzard converted Diablo 3 for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, a year after it arrived on PC, and did extensive work on the balancing, controls and interface then to create a comfortable console gaming experience. Happily, the studio had some great source material to work with. This is the first time a Blizzard game has graced a Nintendo platform in 15 years - since the Californian studio brought its classic games Rock n' Roll Racing and Blackthorne to Game Boy Advance, and before that improbably put StarCraft on Nintendo 64 - so there's quite a lot resting on Iron Galaxy's work. Last year it partnered with Bethesda on the excellent Switch version of Skyrim, and this year it has joined forces with Blizzard to bring Diablo 3 to Nintendo's hybrid system. The developer Iron Galaxy Studios is fast carving out a niche for itself as a specialist in porting modern classics to the Nintendo Switch. |
